Project Detail
3-Element Yagi Antenna
RF design + ISS contact
RFAntenna DesignHam RadioISS

Overview
Designed and built a directional 2m Yagi antenna from scratch and successfully used it to contact the International Space Station.
Highlights
- • Calculated element spacing and tuning for the 2m amateur band
- • Fabricated and tuned the antenna for directional gain
- • Achieved successful ISS contact during scheduled passes
Metrics
- • Successful ISS contact on the 2m band
- • Directional gain achieved with tuned 3-element array
Leadership & Impact
- • End-to-end RF build from design through on-air validation
- • Demonstrated applied RF engineering with a successful ISS contact
