Overview

Designed and built a directional 2m Yagi antenna from scratch and successfully used it to contact the International Space Station.

Highlights

  • Calculated element spacing and tuning for the 2m amateur band
  • Fabricated and tuned the antenna for directional gain
  • Achieved successful ISS contact during scheduled passes

Metrics

  • Successful ISS contact on the 2m band
  • Directional gain achieved with tuned 3-element array

Leadership & Impact

  • End-to-end RF build from design through on-air validation
  • Demonstrated applied RF engineering with a successful ISS contact
