3-Element Yagi Antenna

Overview

Designed and built a directional 2m Yagi antenna from scratch, then used it to make contact through the amateur radio repeater on the International Space Station.

Highlights

• Calculated element spacing and tuning for the 2m amateur band
• Fabricated the elements and mounted them on a PVC boom
• Verified resonance and impedance match with an antenna analyzer
• Made contact through the ISS repeater during a pass
